I think there are builds listed in the Builds thread for a BiP build.

Blood Is Power (e)
Damage Skill
Damage Skill
Damage Skill
Damage Skill
Self Healing Skill
Defense Skill
Rez Signet

Just don't sac yourself to death.

Oh, if a Warrior spams "I have 1/20 energy" don't waste your time BiPing him/her.

If a Spellcaster requests an energy boost, give it to them, but also ask, where is you energy management?

Look at the Henchie Necromancer in Tyria, he uses Blood Ritual, so see what else he uses (but don't sac yourself to death - he might though).

For BiP, I'd use a 55 build. High SR, high blood, and protective spirit/bond with Blood Renewal and possibly mending/watchful spirit. Use Signet of Lost Souls for energy management besides SR. You can also take Order Of Pain in one of your leftover slots.

So you want..

1 superior Soul Reaping rune
1 superior Blood Magic rune
3 other superior runes
no vigor runes
no vitae runes
-50 hp focus item
+5 energy weapon with 20% enchant duration mod (optional, since Blood Renewal will recharge before it is over with this mod)

Protective Bond/Spirit
Blood Renewal
Order of Pain
Blood is Power {E}
Signet of Lost Souls
Res (of choice)
optional - Possibly Mending or Watchful Spirit, to save from putting points in Healing Prayers, or some other spell - Signet of Sorrow also rocks.
optional - Blood Ritual/Dark Pact/Life Siphon/Dark Fury/Mark of Fury/Aegis - some options to think about.

Notes:
*You don't need over 13 blood if you only care about Blood is Power.
*PS has a nice duration with low levels of Protection, and a 20% mod helps even more. I'm not sure what the cutoff would be for this spell.
*Protective Bond only needs 8 in Protection Prayers, unless you wanna get crazy with a +1 offhand. Then you would need 12.

So if you use Protective Bond at 3 energy loss, you could do an attribute spread like this:
9+3+1 Blood Magic
9+3 Soul Reaping
12 protection

Use a +1 protection prayers 20% offhand, till you get it at -3 energy per hit, then switch back to your -50hp grim cesta. With so many points in protection, this would make Aegis very viable. Personally, I like the idea of using PS better. I could use that 1 pip for spamming more skills, and higher points in Blood and Soul Reaping.
You might like Protective Bond more, because it's a set-and-forget type thing. Maybe someone else could give insight on what would be best for a PS based build.

By the way, the point here is NOT to tank. You want to avoid aggro like crazy. Use PS only when you see an attack coming your way, never try to aggro. If you use Protective Bond, avoid aggro and kite like mad, otherwise your energy will suffer. You only have PS/PB to prevent you from dying more than a normal character.
The point here is to use your artificially low HP to make that 33% sacrifice cost you nothing. With 13 blood, which you should always have AT LEAST, Blood Renewal will give you 6 HP regen, which is 12 HP per second, plus a heal for 170 HP at the end.
.33*55 = 18.15 HP sacrificed per BiP. Blood Renewal will make that up to you in 1 and 5/8ths of a second. You can spam BiP like a machine gun.
When you see that little icon blinking for Blood Renewal, it's probably safe to sacrifice 66% to make use of the heal at the end.

Skills:

Blood Renewal
Blood is Power
Well of Blood
(Wild Card) - preferably Extinguish, Heal Party, or Order of Pain
Healing Breeze - Counter Degen
Protective Spirit
Mending
Rebirth

Attributes:

Blood - 10 + 3 + 1
Soul Reaping - 9 + 3
Healing - 9
Protection - 8

Run this with 105 hp, putting a superior run on each armor. However, be sure to have two sets, so that if you die, you can switch armor so you wont DP out.

You can also use a -20 HP offhand (I was lucky enough to get one with Soul Reaping Attribute ^_^)

14 blood magic is all you need, because the regen from Blood Renewal, Blood is power, and Well of Blood is capped at 6

Telling him a build that doesn't involve lowering your hp down to nearly nothin wont help, I think. I sure wouldn't do that, since I've found a build for BiP'ing with 441 hp, I'll probably post it in abit in another thread.

True, but in my experience that is seldom really necessary, since most decent players have some kind of basic energy management. I often get feedback for nice BiP'ing and I really do a lot supporting besides casting BiP. Keeping monks up are 1st priority and then feeding energy demanding casters. Even then I often have possibilities to BiP Rangers and melee characters (yes, warriors hit by "Fear Me" can benefit from BiP).

I personally prefer a +400hp build always with BiP and Blood renewal and then some party support spells like:

Remove hex, really nice for clearing monks from nasty hexes, like in UW- Chaos Plains.
Extingush, especially in the Faction Elite missions.
Shadow of Fear, enfeeble blood or Reckless haste, anti melee.
Well of Blood, Nice heal addition and also works as corpse denial if necessary.
Heal area, your instant heal + heal for low hp party members running back for cover, it also works nicely if you position you close to casters in the back.
Order of Pain, if your party benefit form it.
Rebirth, you are the best rebirther there is, you can directly follow it up with a fast BiP and hopefully a heal area.

Signet of Lost Souls is always nice, and to include some direct damage like Vampiric Gaze or Signet of Sorrow might be a good idea in some areas.

400+! wow. i run a 1 hp BiP in urgoz and wouldnt do anything else. the rit lord simply takes FomF and i suicide on the vampires to give the rest of the team some time to deal with them. also a paragon secondary is great for some energy management and party aid.

With a low hp build you are llimited to stay way back to avoid getting hit and stripped. A normal hp build can deal with that easier.

I am also in a somewhat "anarchistic" guild, where parties not always including tanks and agro management (but we actually do very well anyway). So I can not trust agro not breaking through :-). With SoF and enfeeble blood I can actually tank a couple of berserkers with this build if necessary, even if I get stripped.

Gumby's FoW 55 BiP Necro
Blood Magic: 12+3+1
Soul Reaping: 11+3
(three other sup runes)
Protection Prayers: 6
[skill]Blood is power[/skill][skill]Well of Blood[/skill][skill]Blood Renewal[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Remove Hex[/skill][skill]Holy Veil[/skill][skill]Watchful Spirit[/skill][skill]Rebirth[/skill]
Yep. there it is.. the hex removals are nice because of all the hexes down there.
Another thing to note is that there are many areas where you can tank for your team. Namely outside the area where you get the first quest reward, and just outside the Forge.

Yes, low hp builds are unbeatable in the right areas with good agro management. But as soon as you risk a combination of degen, interrupts and enchant stripping, a low hit point build is pretty vulnerable.

In my opinion a high hp build is less efficient, but a bit more flexible, and I prefer the latter.

Less efficient builds are always better.

Another thing is that low hit point builds often use two or several skill slots only for supporting the low hit point build, not the party. My high hp build only have one skill (Blood renewal) that only benefits me. I value the extra skill slots a lot!

We once got 3 players disconnetcted in FoW, among them the two monks. But I could go in and do the monking (using BiP, heal area, well of blood, remove hex, shadow of fear, enfeeble blood) so we could clear the beach without deaths with W, 2R, Me and N. I really like that kind of flexibility, and for me it's those extraordinary times I really remember!

Edit: If you prefer maximum efficiency instead of more flexibility is mainly a matter of playstyle. Since I almost never play highlevel areas with others that guildies or allies, I do not have to bother about playing with "maximum efficiency". We play for fun and it is not a big deal if an area takes us 5 hours instead of 2 to complete. :-)

Cloudbunny

If you look at Gumby's Build, he has only 1 skill that's limited to himself, and that's Blood Renewal. I fail to see the difference, except that you enjoy taking your time. PS and hex removal are hardly only applicable to yourself.

Well, I would not say Watchful Spirit is big party asset in highend areas, but besides that you're right.

I have never been told that I BiP too little, so I see no need for me to change. I also guess you people with low hp builds may be in parties that actually are built to depend on a BIP'er to work effectively. More damage - less energy management. Very efficient, but also a calculated risk that the party might be severly crippled if it looses the battery.

Since I never been a part of a streamlined farming party I have little experience with that kind of party builds. So I should not put up any arguments, only point out that there actually are alternatives that works nice. It is actually pretty fun to do "come-as-you-like" parties in highend areas (if some of you have not tried it). Probably a bad idea in a PUG, but works like a charm with friends.

Merry Christmas,

i tend to come up with my own builds for things.. here's my BIP build, i've been complemented many times on how well i do a battery. i dont do it much anymore because it's too much like monking and i like to blow things up.

13 blood magic
13 soul reaping

blood is power
shadow strike
life siphon
unholy feast
vamp gaze
vamp touch
mark of subversion
rebirth

concentrating on so much health regen lets me spam bip and never really worry about low health.

I ran this build for ages...

Attributes:

Blood Magic: 12+1+3
Soul reaping: 9+1 (3 if needed)
Healing Prayers: 9

Skills:

[skill]Blood is Power[/skill][skill]Shadow Strike[/skill][skill]Vampiric Gaze[/skill][skill]Mark of Subversion[/skill][skill]Remove Hex[/skill][skill]Heal Area[/skill][skill]Heal Party[/skill][skill]Rebirth[/skill]

The trick here is to not get into combat that much.
Also have a +15/-1 focus at hand for if the need requires it.

My personal BiP Build:

N/Rt

16 (12+ 1 + 3) Blood Magic
12 Restoration Magic
4 (3 + 1) Soul Reaping

1. Life Siphon
2. Vampiric Gaze
3. Lifebane Strike
4. Lively was Naomei (or Flesh of my Flesh)
5. Vengeful Weapon
6. Weapon of Warding
7. Blood Ritual
8. Blood is Power

Great support, Regen, Damage reduction, but don't be selfish, giving Vengeful Weapon to Warriors in the fray is some very cheap damage, and Weapon of Warding can take the pressure off an ally.
